The Ocean Series consists of 6 paintings which make up a total area of 8' x 9' (244cm x 275cm).

The original idea for the paintings came from observing the ocean off the penisular of Valencia, on the South West coast of Ireland. Painterly influences for this work probably came from seeing some early work by the Irish artist Hughie O'Donoghue.
